Social Sway
"Human attention span has fallen from 12 seconds in 2000, the time the mobile revolution began, to eight seconds." - The Telegraph
In order to be more mindful in a technologically distracted world, Social Sway was designed helps maximize productivity, attention and concentration by managing when social apps will interfere with our daily routine.
Homepage
This simple interface invites users to set a time-blocked duration for desired productivity. Throughout the duration, visually represented by the colored ring, users may be promoted to take a 5 min breather break to maximize concentration.
manage your Apps
Users are able to select which apps they want blocked during their work session. Through user interviews, I learnt that some apps like Email are important for people to keep available since they are work related but social focused apps are distracting and often lead users down a rabbit hole of scrolling and texting.
Scheduler
For students and professionals who have long meetings or workshops, the scheduler can help users plan to block distractions for a later date.
Summary
At the end of each session, users are rewarded with an organized summary page displaying the highlights of their social apps, that link out directly to the post in the respective app.
